Background and Significance
Yangming culture, originating from the Ming Dynasty philosopher Wang Yangming, embodies profound historical depth and contemporary value. Its core concepts, such as "the mind as the source of principles", "the unity of knowledge and action" , and "Realization of Innate Goodness", not only hold a pivotal position in traditional Chinese culture but also serve as a vital bridge in global cultural exchanges.
As a key birthplace of Yangming culture, Ningbo has played a crucial role in advancing the "Belt and Road" Initiative in recent years. This competition, initiated by the United Front Work Department of Yuyao Municipal Committee and hosted by Ningbo University, aims to leverage the university’s international exchange platform and modern communication methods like short videos to further promote Yangming culture, enhance overseas audiences’ understanding of and interest in traditional Chinese culture, and drive the global dissemination of China’s outstanding cultural heritage.
Competition Objectives
This competition emphasizes overseas Chinese and international students as cultural bridges and media. Through the short video format, it vividly and intuitively showcases the essence of Yangming culture, helping international audiences better comprehend and embrace this cultural treasure. By encouraging collaboration between Chinese and international students to study and present Yangming culture, the competition aims to enhance cross-cultural communication skills and deepen international students’ understanding of Chinese culture.
